AIDA

THE ARTIST
I was Born in New York, later migrated to Southern California Riverside,  and am currently a resident of  Fort Collins, Colorado.

While a resident of CA I was a member of the Riverside Community Art Association at the Life Arts Center and also a member of the Arts Centre Gallery in Yorba Linda. There I displayed many works and was commissioned for several portraits, landscapes, seascapes, and reproductions of the old masters.

Although my training included many mediums, oil painting has afforded me the opportunity to use glazes and rework areas as needed. It has also given me the pleasure of achieving a style of my own. I find that "one must enter into the doorway of a minds' eye to find the path one will move into". It is certainly a great challenge but one I have always welcomed with open arms.

In my quest for perfection, I grow more confident each day by simplifying my work. I am constantly striving for some form of  uniqueness by allowing for errors to be encapsulated within the canvas with each brush stroke.  The fluidity of the paint as it glides or blends through the surface of the canvas does just that.

Oil Painting is very forgiving and conveys a message. I am convinced that a painting is unique to itself in that it holds through visual stimulus a mood. It enlightens us all with it;s subtlties and sometimes generates controversies. I focus primarily on the process of painting and embrace a personal fulfillment in order to achieve what I might consider a finished piece.  I find that as I approach newer challenges I am able to successfully achieve the outcome of a "not so absolute finallity or perfectionism" in my paintings.

Painting professionally for almost 25 years, I have dedicated myself to achieving the careful manipulation of oils on canvas.  I strive to achieve those master like qualitites of the "Old Masters" emulating my mentor
Michelangelo. I feel that consistency and a commitment to my work will help me in my continued pursuit of  a "master like quality".

I am now pursuing Digital FIne Art Painting and have come to enjoy it's many rewards. It is without a doubt a clean and odorless approach to painting. Through technology and the use of wonderful software, I can achieve the richness and quality of the oil paints with its many wonderful  characteristics.

My self-taught experience coupled with a major art course in fine art and shared experiences with fellow artists, has given me an appreciation for creativity with a technical balance.  Being my worst critic, I gaze into the future in the hopes of becoming as fine a painter as those I have come to admire.

It is with much gratitude to my creator,  my family, and friends  that I am able to bring to you those gifts of love. Thank you for taking the time to visit.
